about jorrel...
Jorrel Javier is a Philippines-born, Los Angeles-raised, and New York-based multi-hyphenate. He is most known for originating the role of Grover in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical on Broadway and touring with Hamilton for over 3 years!
Telling his story to anyone who’d listen, Jorrel developed an affinity for spoken word, public speaking, and educational spaces at a young age. If there was a stage, an audience, and a mic—Jorrel wanted in. In recent years he was a featured speaker at TEDxTexasStateUniversity: Bridging Differences in 2017, a featured poet for TEDxTexasStateUniversity in 2016 and 2021, as well as the invited Baccalaureate speaker of his alma mater, Torrance High School, in 2025. His TEDxTalk can be found here, and his Baccalaureate speech for the Class of 2025 can be found here.
Outside of the theater, he owns and operates Yeet Studios, a styling and personal shopping business that focuses on the exploration of self through clothing and building an authentic uniform. When is he not working, he is often found sewing, volunteering at FabScrap, working out, or listening to live music. He is passionate about community building, lifelong curiosity, and experiencing everything life has to offer with the people he holds dearly.
YOUR ART
is not about how many people
like your work
your art
is about
if your heart likes your work
if your soul likes your work
it’s about how honest
you are with yourself
and you
must never
trade honesty
for relatablility.
